My New Dance Moves
I've been practicing some new dance moves since I moved to America. I've decided that besides being a princess, that I'm also going to be a ballerina. I'm trying to convince my dad to buy me the sketcher shoes with the spinner built in so that I can do really, really good spins!

My new princess bike is here!
Today I got a brand new princess Barbie bike! It has a bag on the front and a mini bike on the handlebar so that my Barbie doll can ride along with us. I was so excited that I rode the bike from the check-out counter all the way to the truck.
When we got home I took my bike for a ride with Dad, Christopher, and my Barbie doll. It was really fun! I only fell once because my dad kept making me practice turns. I've been going outside all night to make sure that my bike is still as cool as I remember. It is!

The Great Rabbit Mystery
We've been going for bike rides every day. On Tuesday, we saw a little rabbit running across some yards. Dad says that the rabbit has a home in the ground, and that he has to invite us before we can go there. I've been trying to find that rabbit's home every day, but he won't come out. I've asked dad about 2,000 times to see if the story will change, but he's sticking with the house in the ground story.
Here I am on our bike. I'm getting a new bike when we go to grandma Rose's house. I want a really cool princess bike! The last picture is me checking my dad's pocket to see if he was holding out on me when i sold him imaginary ice cream.

Just Hanging Around!
Today, we went with my dad to his school. First we were really excited, then we got scared once everyone wanted to meet us. But soon we went outside to play and made lots of friends. I fell asleep before the end of the day because we ran, played, and ate so much. School is fun!
My dad is going to put all of the photos on his blog, but i want to show you these now!

Grab your things, I've come to take you home
On Friday morning, we finally left the Philippines. Then we stopped in Tokyo and ate. Then we got to Los Angeles, California on...Friday morning! What kind of crazy trip is that? When we got to California, my daddy came to get us. We stayed in California for one day and then went to Colorado. Now we are all together again. Most importantly, now that i'm home, I can start taking control of my blog again! Here is a photo from my auntie Nancy's house and then the LA airport on the last part of our trip home.
I did not believe the information
I just had to trust imagination
my heart going boom boom boom
son, he said, grab your things, I've come to take you home!

My first album of photographs
Sometime in 1971, when i was 6 years old, my family took a trip to the newly opened Disney World. That trip is the first time that I can remember being allowed to use the family camera. I took a photo of the rest of my family posing with dwarfs. After we returned and the film was developed, I excitedly looked for my photo. With a little detective work, it was soon resolved that the photo of everyone's feet was mine. What a disappointment.
For us, cameras usually only came out on special occasions. I can't remember it ever dawning on anyone to take photos of the details of everyday life. Digital cameras have changed that completely. Now, there is nothing so trivial that it doesn't deserve to be documented.
Alexa has been taking and trying to use our cameras and cellphones since she could grab them. Finally, Alexa convinced her mom to let her start taking photos on her own. In just a couple of months, our three year old has developed into a star toddler photographer. She loves taking photos of everything and is learning quickly. When she gets to Denver, we'll probably get her a camera of her own so that she can go crazy.
Here is an album of some of Alexa's first work. The last photo is Alexa planning more shots and directing everyone on where to go. That photo was taken by her mom, the rest are alexa originals.

you are the reason i've been waiting so long
In two weeks from this moment, Maylin, Alexa, and Christopher will be in the air on their way here. I don't know that it will fully sink in until i actually see them. The time apart from them has been amazingly empty. I don't think that I needed the lesson, but there's not even a little doubt about who I want to travel through time with.
The other day, I talked to Alexa by webcam.
Me: Lexa, are you going to come to 'merica to see daddy soon?
Alexa: Yeeeeesssss!
Me: Do you know how to get here?
Alexa: (pausing to think) on pwane.
Me: Yes, but can you tell them the way home?
Alexa: (thinking and a little worried) No.
Me: Its alright, I'll tell the airplane how to get here, ok?
Alexa: (looking relieved) OK!

A soon to be American Girl
I'm 3 now and ready to be an American girl! Not too much longer and I'll be in the land where the moon and the stars are extra big, and girls rock.
Can you believe that American Girl was written 30 years before I was born? This photo is me with my first guitar that has strings. It's hard to hold and play without a strap, but i'm practicing the poses.

Well, she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin'
That there was a little more to life somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
And if she had to die tryin'
She had one little promise she was gonna keep

Running on Faith
We're getting close to the end of the wait to be reunited. I can say with absolute certainty that it has been the longest 10 months of my life. I feel like i've had 10 years stolen from me because of the time that I missed with my babies. By the time that they get here, they definitely won't be babies anymore. It has been a trial on many levels, but the relief and excitement of the end of exile and beginning of our lives together overpowers the negative of the experience.
The other day, I was listening to KBCO on the way home from work and Running on Faith came on. It made me realize how much that i've been running on fumes since I left the Philippines last June. I don't have faith in much, but I have absolute faith in my children and the love that I have for them.

Call me crazy, but i don't dig Santa
Its already February, but I'm going to tell a Christmas story anyway. We went to the mall on Christmas, coz that is the kind of stuff you do in the Philippines. There was this white dude there who everyone called Santa. Well, I thought he was kind of weird. Everyone else thought that he was great, but i just couldn't get into it. Here are some photos of my lolo (grandpa), tito (uncle), kuya (brother), mommy (mommy), and me with Santa. You can see by the photos that i'm the only one with any sense in the bunch.

We're going Downtown!
Alexa used to get as mesmerized by this song as she did by Zac Efron in High School Musical, which is saying quite a lot. When i get my time machine perfected, we are going back to this version of the 60s--screw the hippies. Only about 2 more months before we all get to dance around the house again. Hopefully the kids will still be willing to humor and entertain their dad, coz i've been waiting 10 months for the opportunity.

Kick Ass Princess
My mom finally broke down and told my dad that I started liking princesses. I know, the title of my blog says 'I am NOT a Princess.' What can I say? I like what I like. Not only do I now want to be a princess, I talked my mom into cutting my bangs like a princess.
I think that all of this threw dad for a little bit of a loop, since he doesn't really get to see the small, day by day, steps that got us to this point. He got over it quickly though. He said that if I'm going to be a princess, then I should be a Kick Ass Princess!

I'm a Dude, Dad! Pt. 2
This is my favorite song! I think that it is the best rock song ever written. I was born too late.
My dad already put the Mott the Hoople version on his blog, here are some covers (covers if Bowie can actually cover a song that he wrote). There are lots of great versions to choose from, take your pick.

This is the Story of a Girl
Happy New Year! 2012 is going to be my year. I'm moving to America, I get to see my papa again, I get to see snow, I'm learning to ride a bike, I'm starting school, and I'll turn 4. Baby no more, I'm big now.
My mom took this video of me trying out some new moves. I get the dancing from my mom. My dad is probably responsible for the spinning.
